Has anyone heard of this natural treatment for hair loss?
I found this on another forum. Some guy, I guess with a credible reputation (not a troll), posted this on a hairloss thread:
';you need two things : olive oil + garlic.
Heat olive oil on low fire, cut half a garlic into really small pieces, fry it in the olive oil for just a few seconds. Cool it down, and use this oil once a week. It smells a little bit but trust me, after you have seen all the new hair thats popping out of your head, it's so worth it.
So here's how you use it. massage the oil in your head, put a hot wet towel around your head. Wait 1 hour. Repeat weakly, for 4 weaks and watch your hair jumping out of your skull.
Also what you can do is, put 20cc of ';oleum terebentinae'; into a 200 ml shampoo. You don't need to change shampoo, just use the one you allways use. Wash your hair with this shampoo.. Some of my friends tried my tips and now they have excellent hair.';
Would there be any risks trying this method? Of course, check for allergies. Will this method work?Has anyone heard of this natural treatment for hair loss?
No I have never heard of this. But it's Interesting idea and i came accross this site too this morning

Use a mixture of apple cedar and vinegar tea on the scalp to help your hair grow. To rinse your hair use catmint or chamomile infusions so that you will be free from the itching sensation. To stimulate the hair growth, your blood should be free from toxins. Therefore it is advisable to drink daily 1 tbsp. of juice of stinging nettle, birch leaves and watercress mixed in a glass of water.

You need estrogen. You can get it “green and natural” from female hibiscus buds. Seep with warm spring water found only in the Alps and drink before meals.
It doesn't hurt to try, but if you are a girl, why would you care?
Girls don't lose hair, men do so be happy.
i've never heard of it buddy and i don't think i'd go to extremes like that when all you have to do is ensure you are drinking lots of fresh filtered water and not dehydrating yourself with sodas, pop and soft drinks, too much caffeine and alcohol........... drink more water and your hair will grow quicker .... hair needs water to grow ........... also ensure that you are eating enough lean sources of protein like lean meats and fishes, lean chicken, organic nuts and seeds like almonds, brazil nuts and sunflower seeds and ensure that you get enough leafy and green vegies like broccolli, celery, buk choy and wholegrains like brown rice, quinoa, wholegrain breads etc..... all those foods are rich sources of the B complex of vitamins and the B complex will bolster healthy digestion, neural and immune system functioning and do wonders for healthy lustrous hair, skin and nails.

Sodas, pop and soft drinks, caffeine and alcohol will all rob you of your B complex of vitamins so ditch the sodas and alcohol if you drink any and cut right back on the coffee or tea... other things that will rob you of your precious B complex of vitamins are :- stress, eating too much protein, eating too much tinned food and processed sugar and frozen foods, laxatives and diuretics, antiobiotics, antidepressants, penicillin, prednisone and aspirin, otc cold and flu medicines.
i shaved my hair clean off 2 years ago to raise money for the Leukemia Foundation and it's now just past the bottom of my shoulder blades...... true ........ just by doing what i've just advised you to do .... don't stress .... be happy and eat and drink well and your hair skin and nails will positively be glowing.

anyway hair loss can be caused by many different reasons! Find out the actual cause of hair loss! There are many causes of loss of hair such as stress, poor nutrition ,medications, thyroid dysfunctions, illness, fungal infections ,hormonal problems, to mention a few. but anyway you can always try and get real results.
year ago I suffered from hair loss too and I started trying everything you can imagine to stop my hair loss.
the things that really worked for me was:
1) Vitamin A - an anti-oxidant which promotes healthy production of sebum in the scalp;
2) Vitamin E stimulates circulation. Good blood circulation in the scalp is important in keeping hair follicles productive. The 'B' vitamins contribute to melanin, which gives hair its healthy color and also stimulates blood circulation;
3) massage is also beneficial. Massage stimulates circulation. As already noted, good circulation in the scalp keeps hair follicles active. Experts suggest a few minutes of daily head massage by hand. Circulation through massage may be improved by using a few drops of lavender or bay essential oil in an almond or sesame oil base with massage;
4) Try rubbing your scalp with garlic juice, Onion Juice or Ginger Juice(you can either of one out of three, Do not mix any of two or three);
5) also you should use some herbal treatment.in that case Provillus is a good product that helps prevent hair loss and it is an FDA approved product. I think it is very important!
It worked and still works for me!
I do not know if any pharmacies carry Provillus but I do know that you should purchase it directly from the manufacturer and read more about the product here http://www.provillus.com/?aid=749165

No, if you lose hair, you lose it because your hair follicles are not functioning right. All the advertisements you see about hair re-growth is garbage.... where there is no follicle or root there is no hair.

Hair loss is something most men secretly 'fear' but hope it may never actually occur. After all, thinning hair and baldness is something that kids use to identify the elderly, despite the fact that the process can begin before 20 years of age! A good head of hair is associated with youth, virility and attractiveness, so when hair loss occurs it can come as something of a shock.
Since records began, men have documented their attempts to reverse the process of hair loss and cure baldness. The bible tells the story of how when Samson's hair was cut he lost his strength and power. The unspoken agenda for men is that to be hairless, or for the hair to be depleted, equates with a loss of power and virility, something that is clearly not the case.
Some creative but ultimately fruitless concoctions have been devised in an attempt to get the thatch back. Cleopatra used a mixture of horse teeth, bear grease, burnt mice and deer marrow in her attempt to cure Julius Caesar's baldness (it didn't work). Hedgehog urine was also thought to be beneficial. The smell in the heat of the Egyptian sun must have been something very special!
Facts About Cures for Baldness
There is currently no cure for baldness. There are some lotions that can help slow down the process but there is no cure for male pattern baldness. There are, however, a number of things that you should consider.
Life Coach Suggestions for Male Hair Loss
Emphasize your other facial features. Lots of men are using products to improve their looks. There are many products in the department and drug stores that improve your skin. If you have great eyes think about getting your eyelashes dyed. Seek advice from a beautician, health expert or friend.
Update your clothes style. Good clothes and attention to your appearance can make you look much younger and more attractive. Make the most of what hair you do have. One of the most effective is to get a good hair cut. Short, cropped and styled. Consider having a light perm, it can add volume. Shaving it off completely looks great.
Get a hair piece. Covering up a bald area can be the answer. Hair pieces now look very realistic. Good ones can be very expensive but last a long time when cared for properly.
Wear a hat. There are great hats around - from cool to just plain stylish.
Medications for male hair loss
There are two drugs approved by the Food and Drug Administration and are shown to have a positive effect on balding, Finasteride and Minoxidil (Rogaine).
Finasteride is a 5-Alpha Reductase Inhibitor, that is, it works by blocking 5-Alpha reductase and so prevents the enzyme from converting testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). It is DHT that causes male pattern baldness. There are two drugs that contain Finasteride, Propecia and Proscar. Originally prescribed by doctors for benign prostate hyperplasia (prostate problems), the drug has been shown to stop hair loss and in some cases reverse the balding process. Finasteride takes about three months to show results and hair loss occurs a year after the drug is stopped. Side effects are unusual but can include impotence, reduced libido, ejaculation disorders, breast tenderness and enlargement, hypersensitivity reactions such as rashes and lip swelling. Women of child bearing potential should not touch the drug and condoms should be used as the drug is excreted in semen as there is a risk of birth defects.
Minoxidil (Regaine) is found to be effective in about 25% of men with baldness on the crown. Applied twice a day in a cream the hair growth only occurs as long as it is used. Minoxidil was originally approved to treat high blood pressure. Side effects are unusual but Regaine should not be used by people with a history of heart problems, sudden weight gain, chest pains, fainting, or rapid heartbeat.
Surgical Intervention for male hair loss
In the case of hair transplants very small plugs of hair are taken from the side or back of the scalp and transplanted onto the bald patches. The procedure has improved over the years but it still takes a number of months to give a good effect.
Tissue expansion for male hair loss Tiny balloons are inserted under the scalp between the areas of dense hair and gradually inflated over a number of months. This makes the area up to one third larger and it is this area that is surgically removed and the sides are pulled up to the top of the head.
Scalp reduction for male hair loss Loose skin on the scalp is surgically removed pulling the hair on the sides of the head up. As the skin on the forehead is also sometimes slightly lifted it lessens wrinkles.

I am suffering from Hair Loss and don't have $1,000s to spend. What do you think of this treatment?
Heres what I'm thinking... (1) Regenix 1,2, and 3 for normal hair wash. (2) Nixion Follicle booster for the really bad areas. (3) Rogaine Foam and (4) Biotin and Folic Acid pills. Regenix was about $60 for a couple months supply, picked up (2) follicle boosters for $30 (should last at least a month and a half), the biotin and folic acid pills are next to nothing, and lastly a 4 month supply of rogaine foam for $50.00. Do you think this stack will work?I am suffering from Hair Loss and don't have $1,000s to spend. What do you think of this treatment?
ALL THOSE HAIR THING WORK BUT IF YOU STOP USING IT YOUR HAIR WILL FALLOUT SO IF YOU START YOU CANT STOP ITS BEEN LIKE THAT FOR YEARSI am suffering from Hair Loss and don't have $1,000s to spend. What do you think of this treatment?
Have you asked your doctor what the effectiveness of any of the components is by themselves and if they work better together in combination?
I know that rogaine works for hair loss. I am not familiar with the rest of the treatment you are proposing.

Nioxin Bionutrient Cleanser and Nioxin Scalp Therapy.
They are a specialized shampoo and conditioner that repair and promote healthy hair. There also has been scientific studies showing it makes hair grow back because it creates a healthy scalp- therefore the follicle is heathier and the hair itself is thicker and healthy. This has been used and tested of cancer patients.

What are some of the treatments for hair loss? ?
Curing Hair Loss: Hair Like Samson (before he met Delilah) A multi-millionaire will be made one day – the day a scientific researcher finds a simple, inexpensive, universally successful hair regrowth product. And that day will come. The amount of money being funneled into hair loss research is phenomenal, and as long as our society puts such great stock in appearance and beautiful heads of hair, the research will continue until that simple cure is found. Until then, men and women must investigate and experiment with a variety of products which will have a variety of results, dependent upon the individual. Each human body is unique, with unique levels of hormones, chemicals, and enzymes. For this reason, to date, there is not a universal cure. Some people experience reduction in hair loss and solid regrowth, while others using the same product may not see the same results. For those who experience less than desired results from the variety of topical, pills, herbs and hair products available, there are currently surgical “cures,” if they have the financial wherewithal to pursue them. These involve a variety of transplant techniques and can be tedious and a bit painful. Such cures are available for both men and women. Transplants: In transplants, a hair strip is taken from a donor area of the scalp, usually the back, because pattern baldness in both men and women usually does not affect the back of the head. From these strips, individual follicles are extracted and then implanted into the bald area of the scalp. The “art” of this procedure is to get the follicle in so that the slant of the hair is correct for that part of the head. There are usually 1-5 hairs in each follicle, so you can imagine how many transplants have to occur if someone wants a full thick head of hair to replace a completely bald spot. The average cost of transplant, per follicle is $4 - $6. The average cost of pattern baldness transplants is about $10,000.00 – a hefty bill for most of us. For women who have overall balding events, the cost can be greater still. If you do not have $10,000 to spend at the moment and you must wait until regrowth products improve, you may have to be content with less preferable but effective methods like using Provillus. There have been great advances in hair pieces for men, and wigs are as much a fashion accessory as jewelry for women. If you select this route, buy a good one and go to a professional who is widely experienced in developing unique hair pieces for individual needs. Generally, you get what you pay for. Fit and ability to have confidence that wind and lots of movement will not move your hair piece are extremely important. While not the permanent cure you really want, the embarrassment of societal reaction to your baldness is eliminated. Keep abreast of research in the area of hair loss cures. Scientists are close, and the answer could come any day. In the meantime, do what makes you feel comfortable and confident, and use any product that helps you reduce the rate of your current hair loss. Stress and anxiety over this condition will only make it worse.

What are the causes and natural treatments of female hair loss and mood swings?
I've also started getting broken thread viens from walking too much!
Recently I have joined a gym and go 3 times a week and also do one session of yoga a week. I started to loose a lot of hair after giving birth and not regained all of it although my hair dresser said some is starting to grow back.
I get mood swings, low libido and feel really low and not quite right physically sometimes - may be food allergy.
Started taking maca, St John's Wort, gingko bilbo and also take flax seed oil to ensure I get enough omega 3,6 and 9 as vegetarian. I tired a wheat, dairy sugar free eating plan and did feel better but stopped...What are the causes and natural treatments of female hair loss and mood swings?
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. Egg whites, lemon juice, oil massages, reducing stress and diet changes can reduce hair fall and make it healthier. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for hair loss as well as for healthy hair at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/hairfall.htm鈥?/a>What are the causes and natural treatments of female hair loss and mood swings?
If something was working, continue doing it! Everything in moderation.
Also there may be some stress or trauma in your life that you haven't dealt with.
How's your spiritual life? Do you believe in God? Try it. It may help! Body, mind and spirit affect one another.
Lack of vitamins and protein. Eat more eggs and take supplements if you must.
The first thing you need to do is figure out why your sex drive is low and try to help get it back. I was in your situation and it's not fun without being horny and feeling in the mood when needed. I also felt like my orgasms (if I would even get one) were really weak. Probably because of my sex drive.
However, I tried exercising and dieting but nothing seemed to be working. I thought I was screwed. I then found something just as amazing as the vibrator.
My friend at work told me about this stuff she took to raise her sex drive. It was a natural herbal supplement and was I lucky to of found it. Theres no side effects and the sex drive is just tremendous along with orgasms that are blasting. The stuff is called Hersolution pills. At the time I saved money on them at herenhancement.com
What I did was tried out for 3 months and that was really it. I found taking them every other day or so was the best to stretch it out. After the months were up, I was back to normal with a beating sex drive and my orgasm strength in increased so much.
Well good luck and I hope this helps.almay makeup

What r the caueses of hair loss and what are the treatments?
my brother is very upset about his hair loss he has had many dosages but all of them didnt produce any result we have this disorder as inheritanceWhat r the caueses of hair loss and what are the treatments?
There are different types pf hair fall. The one that most of the males are concerned is the male pattern baldness and is related to the sensitivity of the hair follicles to the androgen. There are numerous treatment for this androgen male pattern baldness
1) Minoxidil-It is increased the blood supply to the hair follilce and also increases hair growth.
2) Finasteride-It is androgen receptor blocker that blocks the action of androgen and thereby reduce hair fall and subsequently increases hair growth. But one needs to consult physician before using oral drugs as it can have side effects like decreased sexual drive etc.
3) Hair transplantation is another procedure that can be used for hair fall.It can give varying results to different people. But the hair that is transplanted is supposed to be permanent. What r the caueses of hair loss and what are the treatments?
If he has inherited male pattern baldness, tell him to shave his head and then always remember that bald is beautiful and also sexy
i dont know how old your brotheris but mabey it is because of stress or stress related things and the only cure for stress is sleep and staying calm and not drinking

Is there a certain kind of chemotherapy treatment that doesn't cause hair loss? If so, what is it called?
Some of the chemo drugs or combinations of the chemo drugs will cause hair loss. Your Dr will tell you when or if hair loss is a side effect of a specific treatment.
Also, it depends on your own body and how you react. My Mom was told on 3 different occasions that the chemo drugs she was receiving would cause hair loss and even full baldness. She never did lose all her hair. It thinned, but didn't all come out.
So again, some chemo drugs or their combinations cause hair loss, but not all.Is there a certain kind of chemotherapy treatment that doesn't cause hair loss? If so, what is it called?
It all depends on the chemo. I took Intron A (interferon alpha 2b) for melanoma. My hair thinned, but did not fall completely out (My hair was and is waist length). Some people insisted I wasn't on chemo because I wasn't bald!!!! Um, chemotheraphy is NOT radioactive.***To the person who said I was lucky due to my hair being long and growing slowly---NOBODY on intron A goes bald. Nobody. I was on 63000000 IUs 5x a week for a month, and then 11 months of maintenance. Intron A has a different mechanism.....it works on your immune system, not by attacking fast growing cells (like most traditional chemos). Is there a certain kind of chemotherapy treatment that doesn't cause hair loss? If so, what is it called?
I take Aromasin, which is a pill form of chemotherapy. It does not cause hair loss. Tamoxifan is another pill form of chemo.
The reason I was able to take a pill form of chemo is because the cancer was caught early.
For breast cancer, CMF chemotherapy only a small chance of causing hair loss. AC chemo guarantees hair loss. But a doctor has to make choices based on what will kill the cancer, not what will maintain one's hair...
All chemotherapy has the potential to cause hair loss.
However, some people don't lose their hair as a result, but it's not many people.
There are many different types of chemotherapy.
Different people are given different drugs, either singly or in combination to suit the type and location of the cancer they are fighting.
Some are almost guaranteed to cause total hair loss, some rarely cause hair loss or only slight hair loss.
The amount of hair loss a particular drug or conmination will cause is not a deciding factor in which treatment will be used.
When the best treatment for a particular cancer is chosen, the patient will be advised of the likely side effects, including hair loss, however the alternate (spread of unchecked cancerand probable death) puts all those side effects into perspective and makes them tollerable!
it depends on the type of cancer you or your loved one has.
my brother in law has brain cancer and he is taking a chemo in a form of a pill called Temador which does not cause any hair loss.
good luck and keep strong..
yah umm almost all of them do.
Many chemotherapy regimes cause hair loss or hair thinning; some don't. I lost all my hair, my late sister in law didn't lose any. See this link for details of risk of hair loss with different chemotherapy drugs
http://www.cancernet.co.uk/hairloss.htm
it depends on the person. My next door neighbor never had any hair loss or got sick during chemo.
Yes there are many such treatments that does not cause hair loss. For more details visit http://hair.health2all.info
Even if a chemo drug did tend to not cause hair loss it would have to be an effective drug against the person's specific type of cancer. If you are concerned for yourself, then I would have to tell you that you need to concentrate on treating your disease and that your hair will grow back.
I can tell you from personal experience that I would rather have my wife with no hair than a ';good looking corpse';. Sadly, neither she nor I got to make the decision; the disease did it for her.
Good luck.
it depends a lot on your system, chemotheropy drugs are designed to attack fast growing cells in the body, and the cells that grow your hair can be among the fastest growing in the body. They are working on some new smart drugs that they get to target specific fast growing cells instead of a blanketing all of them, but they are still in trial stages. The person above with waist length hair was lucky since their hairgrowth had slowed due to the length. but again as they said it depends on the dosage amounts and frequency as well.
all chemo treatments, make that most if not all, chemo treatments cause you to loose all your hair because its attacking the skin at some point on yuor body and it looses it mass..
Cancer Survivor since 2000
Yes there is. I was treated at Galvistn hospital in TX. I was stage 4 NH Lymphomia. I did not get sick or loose my hair. The treatment was 3 months but the cancer came back in a year. I was treated 10 years ago for the same thing it was hell I was sick and lost my hair, the treatment waslasted a year. The cancer was gone for 9 years I would go with the hair loss any day to have 9 good years vs the one year with the easy one.
Non-existent. Chemo is the chemical injection of radioactive substance into youre body that will kill cancer cells quicker than you. There's not multiple kinds. It sucks and I feel for you, just remember that you're playing for keeps and in the end, you will be better.

yah umm almost all of them do.

Hello guys any ideas of home treatments for hair loss?
Just wanted to throw this in here - bald men are sexy, and I'm not the only one who thinks so.Hello guys any ideas of home treatments for hair loss?
They are several things that you can do from home that combined will help your hair loss. I have been using these steps for about 4 months and have seen tremendous results. I wish you the best of luck.
1) Take Zinc and Saw Palmetto. Before trying Propecia, a hair growth stimulator with horrible side effects, use the natural form of their active ingredients. You can find both at your local health food store.
2) Drink a soy protein supplement everyday. Your hair needs protein, as it is the building block and will maintain the strength of the hair shaft.
3)Massage your scalp daily for 5-10 minutes with coconut and amla oil. Amla oil is proven to fight hair loss.
4) Use natural hair care products. Sulfates and parabens in most drugstore products actually accelerate hair loss or even facilitate it due to their drying effects. Your best bet is to find a natural hair care product that contain herbs that stimulate hair growth, such as Vitamin E, Coconut Oil, Rosemary, Saw Palmetto, etc. Beauty 4 Ashes A Double Portion line is one of the best that I have found. Their products are somewhat pricey, but some people sell them on Ebay for a few dollars less.
5) Drink plenty of water.
6) Do not drink alcohol. It dehydrates your body and thus, your scalp---where you need moisture and blood flow.Hello guys any ideas of home treatments for hair loss?
get a head scrubber. it will stimulate your scalp which will prevent future hair loss. you can probably get one at your local grocery store or ask your hair stylist.
I am a strong believer that you can fight hair loss from home with herbs and vitamins. Especially, if your hair loss is non-genetic. Here are some home recipes (these are the best):
Massage a mixture of coconut oil, vitamin e, and olive oil into your thinning areas before going to sleep every night. If you are married or dating, have your partner or friend massage the mixture in throughly.
Take a few drops of coconut milk, 1/4 tsp of aloe vera, 1/4tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp red pepper and massage this mixture into thinning areas. Let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes. Then shampoo it out.
Deep condition your hair with avacado and mayo at least once per week. If all else fails you can try, rogain (which can make your scalp tender), propecia (which has sexually side effects), hair transplant (which will break the bank), or Beauty 4 Ashes Super Gro system (which uses herbs and vitamins to stimulate hair growth)
Home remedies for work, if you are consistent in your applications. You have to stick to it, regardless of how tired or merger the progress seems to be. Good luck.
I tried every home remedy that anyone suggested, and still lost my hair.
You could try Rogaine, (they didn't have it when I was losing mine)
Its difficult to do as a young man but sooner or later you will have to accept that your hair is thinning.
If it is too traumatic for you, you could try a hair weave, or toupee, the problem with them is they in most cases do not look real
If you let a 'Cow Lick your head' it will grow back~

The faster way to really change the health of your hair is by taking supplements that work internally on the follicle where hair is made; that can only happen with systemically provided support, which means supplements that you take internally.. Keep in mind, regardless of how many or how much you take of any supplement, hair is never going to grow at a ';Jack and the beanstalk'; type of rate, the most you can hope for is to improve the strength and health of each hair follicle and to see an incremental increase in the rate of its growth

HAIR LOSS
It is quite natural to lose about fifty to hundred a day. More than this amount of hair loss could result from any one of a number of factors and may be cause for concern.
Cause:-
* Daily repetition of certain hairstyles, like hair tightly pulled back, braided or wrapped around rollers can pull out individual hairs. Such pulling can damage and destroy follicles completely and the hair will not grow back.
* Emotional stress may bring on alppecia areata, a disorder that results in bald patches on the scalp and may be associated with changes in the immune system. Emotional stress can also cause hair to fall from parts of the scalp.
* Body stress is also known to cause excessive hair loss. Hair loss can result from pregnancy or begin when a woman stop taking birth control pills.
cure:
It is better to see a trichologist if handfuls of hair fall out after shampooing. For mild hair loss, use products that tone and invigorate the scalp and stimulate the growth. Scalping massage is good, which aside from being relaxing and reducing stress levels, loosens and stimulates the scalp and promotes healthy hair growth.
Most hair loss is temporary, but when the follicles are destroyed by serious scalp burns, excessive exposure to x-rays, or vital infection, hair loss can be permanent.
They also have treatments for dry scalp. Hope this helps.
Hey mate....
Our hormones govern the development of hair that appears after puberty. The male hormone, testosterone, governs beard, body hair and hair in the armpits. The female hormone, estrogen, generally prevents hair growth on the chin and encourages it to grow on the head. Occasionally women develop signs of hair loss or baldness when estrogen levels drop. Treatment with estrogen has been successful in restoring hair growth and stopping of hair loss.
Eat a protein rich diet including green leafy vegetables, carrots, soybean, mango, dried apricots, whole grain cereals, sprouts, lentils, yeast, wheat germ, milk, yogurt (curd), and buttermilk in the daily diet.

My first German shepherd lost all the fur on his body due to an undiagnosed stomach tumor which eventually caused the bloat that killed him. He was unable to get the nutrition he needed because of the tumor, and that caused the fur loss problem.
He was also tested for allergies, thyroid function, mange, etc., and nothing showed up in tests. We spent 5,000 dollars (US) over a two year period, trying to find out what was wrong, so you have my understanding and sympathy.
I've also seen pictures of a German shepherd with similar symptoms, and the problem in that case was an enzyme deficiency. Again, the dog was unable to digest his food and make full use of the nutrients. The addition of digestive enzymes to his food made the difference, and he grew his fur back.
Have your dog checked out for possible stomach or pancreatic tumors, and ask the vet about the possibility of an enzyme deficiency or other nutrional-based problems. Also look into the possibility of allergies to common products in dog foods such as corn.
If this information can help your dog, then all the misery that my poor Cody went through won't have been in vain.

Question/Treatment of Traction Alopecia (Hair loss)?
My hair on the top of my head, in front, and especially around the scalp have been thinning dramatically in the past few years. I've been growing my hair as long as I could in the past few years, trying to attain nice long hair, and it's all past my shoulders at this point. EXCEPT for the top of my head which doesn't seem like it has budged in length, and only gotten shorter. This constitutes to a very awkward and terrible looking balance of hair that kills my hopes of having long hair, or at the very least HAIR.
I've been noticing that the hair thinning starts right around where I would normally wear a headset. I should mention at this point I am an avid gamer and computer user, spending many hours a day playing games/working on the computer. I'm always wearing a headset as well, which as I mentioned the hair thinning starts right around there (or ends, you could say). Behind the headset however, the hair is very long and thick.
I panicked the other day when I began seeing my scalp in the mirror, and decided to do some research on connections between excessive headset usage and hair loss, and found an article that states that frequent use of headsets will cause Traction Alopecia.
I've only been using a headset for a few years, which before I really began wearing a headset all of the time my hair seemed fine. It's been a downward spiral since and I'm slowly piecing it that it's most likely the excessive usage of headsets that could be causing it, after shrugging it off as an unfortunate circumstance of genes.
So, the actual question to be asked is, is it too late for my hair to recover? (I will obviously stop using headsets, or at least a lot less than I do now). Are there any treatments that can be done that don't involve expensive surgeries or drugs with nasty side effects?Question/Treatment of Traction Alopecia (Hair loss)?
It could be the headset or it could be your hair just taking natures course. If it's male pattern baldness look at what your mother's father's hair looks like. Nioxxin hair product system is great, Also take Biotin and Vitamin E.Question/Treatment of Traction Alopecia (Hair loss)?
I would say not to use chemicals on your hair. Why don't you go for some home remedies. What are the treatments(oils, shampoos) available for stopping loss of hair on the scalp?
I have been having hair loss on my scalp since 4-5 years. I have taken treatment back in India though but I would like to know the treatments availble in USA. Kindly lemme know.
ThanksWhat are the treatments(oils, shampoos) available for stopping loss of hair on the scalp?
Why spend the money? Many women these days find bald men attractive. Save the money, shave your head and start having fun. It's not whats on the outside that matters, it's what's on the inside. So, try what I suggested, and see what a difference it makes....What are the treatments(oils, shampoos) available for stopping loss of hair on the scalp?
Stay away from oils and pore clogging products. Go and get a good scalp massage a couple times a week.
well this isnt for u.s but didnt you try sesame oil. i know in the usa people with hair loss use rogain. maybe u should talk to ur doctor about hair vitamin pills to see if it works. well good luck
There is a full line of products brand named ';Nioxin'; available specifically for thinning hair. The only product available that helps regrow hair is ';Rogaine.'; Unfortunately, once you start using it, you must continue using it or you lose what you have gained. Good luck.
Provillus is a new and revolutionary herbal medication to treat hair loss in men and women. Provillus comes in a convenient tablet form that is taken daily for the treatment of male hair loss and female hair loss. Provillus is an all-natural supplement available without a prescription.
Provillus first works to reverse the effects of the hormones that caused the initial hair loss. By using RNA, nutrients are delivered to the hair follicle, and the follicle will slowly become stronger and thicker.
Provillus eliminates clogged hair follicles by dissolving dead skin cells, scalp oil (sebum), and residue from shampooing and may reverse the damage caused by DHT. Then, RNA works with your natural DNA processes to deliver vital nutrients to the follicle.
Provillus provides hair follicles with capsicum, amino acids, and essential minerals to prevent NDF (Nutrient Deficient Follicles, the third leading cause of premature hair loss). With proper nutrition and increased blood flow to the scalp, dormant follicles can begin producing healthy hair once again.

WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF HAIR LOSS AND BREAKAGE OF HAIR FROM THE ROOTS AND IS THERE ANY TREATMENT FOR THIS?
Somehow I feel that this is female hair loss related so here you go.
When new hairs do not replace the old or when hair is coming out in clumps or sections, there is definite cause for concern.Female hair loss comes from a variety of causes 鈥?some temporary, some permanent.
Temporary causes include pregnancy, anxiety and stress, too many strong treatments (coloring, bleaching), too much manipulation, illness, disease, and infections of the scalp. Fortunately, regrowth occurs naturally when as these causes dissipate.
Permanent hair loss occurs as a result of heredity and hormonal changes and unfortunately is not reversed naturally. Women usually see hair loss begin at areas of parts, where parts become wider. Female pattern baldness occurs primarily in the frontal areas; then, there is general overall hair loss, resulting in a continual thinning of the entire head with the scalp becoming more and more visible.WHAT IS THE CAUSE OF HAIR LOSS AND BREAKAGE OF HAIR FROM THE ROOTS AND IS THERE ANY TREATMENT FOR THIS?
Hormones place a large role in woman鈥檚 hair loss and it can be caused by an overactive thyroid, menopause, pregnancy or other hormonal changes.
There are three basic types of woman鈥檚 hair loss: 1) androgenic alopecia, 2) Telogen effluvium and 3) alopecia areata. There are less common causes of the condition as well. The most common cause of treatment of androgenic alopecia are those directed at hormonal alterations in the system.

Your hair should be damaged, badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp. To treat hair loss apply a little lemon juice with some black tea and massage then wash after an hour, or else rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar this helps control hair fall.Check out http://usefulinfo-hairloss.blogspot.com/ for more info.

Have any of you used a hair-loss treatment that worked?
My boyfriend is just 24 and his hair-line has receded massively in the last few years. He has the same hair-line as his Dad, but he didn't lose his hair nearly as fast as this.
My bf is pretty upset about it - have any of you tried anything that worked?
(And in case any of you are wondering, I really couldn't care less, it works fine for bruce willis! I'm asking only for my bf - he's devastated thinking about what it might look like in a few years and he just wants some hair for his wedding day! : (Have any of you used a hair-loss treatment that worked?

What are the dangers of Rogaine and other hair loss treatments?
I want to use Rogaine or another hair regrowth product, but i am hesitant to do so because i personally think that there must be major long term side effects. Help me!What are the dangers of Rogaine and other hair loss treatments?
Excellent Question. In short, Rogaine (Minoxidil) is topical and so it limits its potential risks. The mechanism of actions is that Minoxidil may either activate the hair follicle directly or stimulate the microcirculation surrounding the follicle, increasing cutaneous blood flow via its vasodilating effects. (Minoxidil also may alter the metabolism of androgens in the scalp.) However, when Minoxidil is taken systemically (in pill form), it has hypotensive effects (lowers blood pressure). Therefore, it would be dangerous if too much Rogaine is absorbed through the head into the bloodstream. Luckily, topical minoxidil is poorly absorbed through the skin. The systemic absorption of topical minoxidil averages 2% (range 0.3鈥?.5%). Systemic adverse reactions are thus unlikely from topical administration. Placebo-controlled trials with topical minoxidil only showed an increase in dermatological effects from the active drug. Hence, the risk of hypotensive side effects are little to none. Using Rogaine on areas with sunburn or open wounds would obviously increase risk of systemic side-effects. I'm no doctor, but overall from my readings, I'd say Rogaine is pretty safe to use. The only real downside with this drug is that it must be applied 2x a day, and that regrowth will regress if you stop using it (this happens with Propecia too). It also presumably takes a few months for visible regrowth.
The only other drug that is FDA approved for allogenic alopecia is Propecia (Finasteride). Unlike Rogaine, this is taken as a pill, which increases its chance for side-effects. This is because it not only can affect your hair, but also other places in your body via your bloodstream. Most frequently reported adverse reactions to finasteride were related to sexual function. Propecia also is teratogenesis and is absolutely contraindicated during pregnancy. Interestingly, finasteride was first used for treatment of BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia). So taking this drug for alopecia may also have the beneficial side effect of a reduced risk of BPH. However, in a 2003 NEJM article (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query鈥?/a> they found that use of Finasteride increased the risk of high-grade prostate cancer. This would obviously need more research to determine whether using Finasteride as a BPH preventative for the 25% decreased in prostate cancer risk (leading to decreased prostate-caused urinary problems) would be worth the increased risk of high-grade prostate cancer. Also, treatment for BPH uses doses of up to 5mg/day in contrast to the 1mg/day for alopecia, so the extent to which this study applies to the dose you would be taking is likely unknown.
Other than that, there are other non-FDA approved approaches for hair loss such as Nizoral Shampoo (1-2% Ketoconazole) among others. But there isn't anywhere as much documentation for those.
Hopefully this helps a bit...What are the dangers of Rogaine and other hair loss treatments?

Alopecia areata is hair loss of unknown cause, characterized by round patches of complete baldness.
The specific cause of alopecia areata is unknown. A family history of alopecia is present in about a fifth of all cases. Alopecia areata is occasionally associated with autoimmune diseases.
Alopecia may also occur as alopecia totalis with complete loss of scalp hair or as alopecia universalis with total loss of all body hair.
The primary symptom of alopecia areata is roundish patches of hair loss on the head, with smooth, hairless scalp in the affected areas. Alopecia totalis involves the complete loss of all scalp hair, and alopecia universalis is characterized by the complete loss of all scalp and body hair.
No fully effective treatments are available. Typical therapy includes:
Topical corticosteroids (medium to very high potency)
Subcutaneous (under the skin surface) steroid injection
Ultraviolet light therapyActual cause of hair loss on the back side of my head %26amp; precise treatment for it?
Skin specialist will not be able to help you. If it is hereditary, you will have to live with it. Otherwise, you need constitutional treatment. Consult a homoeopath.

Best treatment for hair loss on the front of your head?
i'm only 25 and starting to lose my hair in the front of my head. i know rogaine, etc are for bald spots on the back of your head. anything for front baldness? does propexia help with that or also only back of the head baldness? please help, so sad :{Best treatment for hair loss on the front of your head?
Your hair loss may be happening for a variety of reasons from stress, poor diet, medications or heredity. If you feel this is not a hereditary issue, seek the advice of your family physician.
Otherwise, there are a few options. Specialized products such as Nioxin (available in many salons) are a complete hair care line to promote new growth, maximize the hair you have and stimulate a healthy scalp. Rogaine is another option, but one with consequences. You may see regrowth, but if you stop using the product, the effects can be lost as well (your newly grown hair can fall back out). This is likely to happen with any topical (apply to the scalp) products containing minoxidil (what's in Roagaine).
Consider your options, but I would recommend Nioxin over Rogaine to my salon clients simply because I have seen the results (thicker, healthier hair and regrowth in some cases).
Don't count out a trip to your doc if you think this is not a hereditary issue... medications such as anti-depressants can cause hair loss. Hair loss may also result from more serious health issues such as a hormonal imbalance or thyroid dysfunction.
Best of luck!Best treatment for hair loss on the front of your head?
Have you gone to the doctor to see what exact kind of hairloss you're having?
Try using either the Nioxin line or Rogaine. Rogaine is not specifically for the back on the head, it works all over. Nioxin works well, matter of fact they give it to cancer patients after they've lost all their hair from chemo treatments.
If you're looking for a more naturalistic way of treating baldness, try doing scalp massages twice a day and that will stimulate blood flow to your scalp. There are also certain herbs that when diluted help combat against baldness and thinning.
Saw Palmetto has been found in studies to reduce baldness. You might give that a try.

Also what you can do is, put 20cc of ';oleum terebentinae'; into a 200 ml shampoo. You don't need to change shampoo, just use the one you allways use. Wash your hair with this shampoo.. Some of my friends tried my tips and now they have excellent hair.';
Would there be any risks trying this method? Of course, check for allergies. Will this method work?Has anyone heard of this natural treatment for hair loss?

I am male 24,india,i have hair loss and thinning of hair also,m thinking of a treatment at Dr batra's,suggest?
I am not experiencing any normal male baldness pattern but just normal hair loss, i also checked the net and found some drugs like Finasteride etc.. but was afraid of the side effects.please suggest me. this is a sincere request please help meI am male 24,india,i have hair loss and thinning of hair also,m thinking of a treatment at Dr batra's,suggest?
batraa is fake bastard ,so dont waste your money
just go and consult a dermatologist in a good hospital in you city ,he wil run some test and give you the solution or the exact problem for hair loss %26amp;thinning
orelse you can do this
well try trimming your hair short and use a good conditioner based shampoo, take 1 becozinc tablet dailyI am male 24,india,i have hair loss and thinning of hair also,m thinking of a treatment at Dr batra's,suggest?
Homeopathy is absolute waste of time and money. Time is important because if the medication doesn't work and you lose precious time, recovery becomes even more difficult. Besides you lose more hair during the time you think that the product is working but actually it isn't. Homeopathy with batra is fake. He will rob you. He is a virtual Quack.
Finasteride, no doubt, has side-effects. You shouldn't even risk trying it.
Under contemporary medicine, one thing has shown great promise. It is - Saw Palmetto. It works in the same way as Finasteride but has absolutely no side-effects. There's a research story behind it. It's now available in India under Segals brand.
I started with Minoxidil but stopped it after 4 months because of side-effects. Then I searched the net and found a Canadian brand - Segals and started used Segals Thinning Hair Program. It's now available in India. Within 7 weeks, hairloss stopped totally. After 13 weeks now, Hair also has become weighty and thick. But lost hair has not yet come back. They say it may take 6 to 8 months. That is understandable as my problem deteriorated in 4 years - I cannot expect it to be solved in 4 months.
But, I am convinced as hairloss has already stopped, otherwise I would have been bald in 2 years. The best thing is that Segals Solutions has no side-effects.
Segals Solutions's Thinning Hair Program would be the best. Ultimately you will have to come to that to get a permanent solution. Don't go on wasting money here and there. It is reasonably priced and has something unique which nothing else has, like Saw Palmetto. Saw palmetto is the 3rd largest herb sold in the US and is effective, without side-effects like Finasteride. Finasteride will get you so many problems.
Don't get trapped in batra's homeopathy and his yearly contract. He acts more like a cable tv subscription dealer than a doctor.
Batra is too expensive... I was also facing the same problem, but I started with a local Homeopathic Doctor and the medicines started showing effects within a month.
I feel the difference myself; so I wud suggest you go to some Homeopathic or Ayurvedic Doctor whom you know personally. Dr Batra is just toooo expensive; keep it the last alternative.
it is a good idea. Homeopathic/Ayurvedic medicines are safe and cure is almost guaranteed. They will not only improve your hair growth, they will also remove the underlying root cause of the problem, like anxiety, infection etc.
But the cure will be slow. You have to be patient.
Dr. Batra's is reputed, but a bit costly. You can go ahead.
Once hair falls nothing can be done except hair transplanting. Only medicines can retain whatever hair you are having. Once you stop the medicines that will also fall. so just ignore. Nature gave you hair for protection of your head and skull from falling down and also to cover the head from adverse environment of hot and cold. I have started balding when I was 30. Now I am 50 % bald. I just do not care. We are much better than dump, blind, and other handicapped persons.
Hi, I cannot suggest any particular treatment. Even I am having a similar problem. However, I found an online shopping portal which has a wide range of products which also includes health and beauty products. Its called RetailsDirect. I found some good products there. I am sure it will work out for you as well. Try it once !

I wasted my money on batra. Never never go there. Total waste. I didn't get any result even after 10 + 1/2 months
i prefer Parachute Hair Fall Therapy coz i found it to be pretty nice and it starts working from the first use .The second point which i would suggest would be to rub your nails with each other early in the morning ,it should be done in a proper manner with one hand stationary and the other rubbing your nails with the other.

Other reasons for hair loss in men and women are; stress, infection, surgery, high fever, diets, over brushing, syphilis, and tumors.Severe hair problems may cause anguish. An increase in the numbers of hairs lost daily about 200 hairs a day will be noticeable to the person who may become desperately anxious that he or she is going to become bald.
Perming, straightening, hair dyeing and bleaching ,hot combing, using heated rollers and hot wax inevitably damage the hair.Badly damaged hair breaks at the scalp.Once split ends have appeared, it is a good idea to trim off the straggly ends to give a healthy appearance to the hair.

Is there any medication &/or treatment on hair loss, losing of hair's color &similar of its features, esp.on men
observation on vast %26amp; wide in my area/place.Is there any medication %26amp;/or treatment on hair loss, losing of hair's color %26amp;similar of its features, esp.on men
Biotin is a hair loss vitamin that seemed to be of great help to my wife. You can buy it at any nutritional store. As for the loss of hair color, time, the elements, age, etc are all the cause, along with possible hereditary traits. Look into dyes.Is there any medication %26amp;/or treatment on hair loss, losing of hair's color %26amp;similar of its features, esp.on men
There are a number of hair replacement techniques that are available:
Hair Transplantation
During hair transplantation, the surgeon removes small pieces of hair-bearing scalp grafts from the back or sides of the head. These grafts are then relocated to a bald or thinning area. The results are permaneant, look pretty natural and can be treated afterward as natural hair. The price of these operations ranges from $2000 - $10000, although most surgeons offer some financing options.
Medications:
Finasteride (Propecia鈩?
Procecia is a once a day pill and is clinically proven to maintain your hair count and even regrow hair at the crown and on the top of your head. It has no effect on hairline balding. It is available by prescription only, costs about $75 monthly and is covered by no insurance plans. Once your discontinue taking Propecia, any new hair you regrew will fall out.
minoxidil (Rogaine鈩?
Minoxidil or Rogaine is topical solution that must be applied to the balding area twice a day, every day. Decreasing the dosage to once a day results in some hair loss, and discontinuing application causes regression to pretreatment baldness.
Personally, I would ask yourself what your goals are and how much you're willing to spend. If you really want to keep your hair, transplant surgery is the only real long term solution and is more cost effective if you consider the money saved on propecia or rogaine.
If staving off your hairloss for 5 years or less is your main goal, then medical treatment is a completely satisfactory option. For maximum effective treatment I would recommend using extra strength rogaine and propecia.

There is no real treatment for hair loss during chemotherapy; however there is a medically approved treatment for effective regrowth, which also promotes faster recovery of hair loss. This treatment is known as Rogaine. Whether you choose a product such as Rogaine or not, make sure that once the hair begins to fall out, that you protect your scalp from dangerous sun radiation.Any medical treatment will help regrow of hair loss from chemotheropy?
Obtain a bottle of olive oil, because this is very useful in regrowing hair. Place a drop or two of the oil on your finger and rub your palms together to spread the oil over both hands. Now spread it very carefully into the balding area of your hair. This is messy of course, and can make your hair greasy so it not advisable to use this technique when you have to be somewhere in public. Use it when you have several hours to yourself and won't need to wash your hair for a while.
No medical treatment will help yu to regrow of hair loss.Avoid using chemotheropy.Use ayuervedic or herabal oil for regrowth of hair.

What is the best treatment for reduction of hair loss and dandruff?
suggest any simple treatmentWhat is the best treatment for reduction of hair loss and dandruff?
What came to mind right away is this. Do not wash it the day of the event. After years of experience, as well as hearing tips by celebrities, it has been shown that hair is much more manageable if you don't wash it for a day. So if you want to fix up your hair in a particular style the day of an event, wash it the night before. Let the natural oils in your scalp help you so that when you go to straighten/curl sections, they will stay that way much longer than if you had washed it that same day.
I've done this as well. If I shower the night before and let my hair dry naturally, I can fix it the next day and if I flat iron it, the texture is smoother and won't frizz out during the day. Also, if you decide you want to curl it, the curl will hold much longer than if you had washed your hair right before.

For dandruff, I'd recommend Head and Shoulders shampoo. It gets rid of dandruff in just one or two washes (: You can buy it at drug stores. If that doesn't work, you may need a dermatologist's help, since dandruff is caused by dry skin on the scalp. So, ask your doctor to recommend you to a good dermatologist. Then you can get a prescription strength cream/gel to prevent dandruff.
As for the hair loss, that is usually caused by genetics. You could try a thickening shampoo. L'Oreal makes them :) But if the hair loss continues, and you're still young, then see a doctor.
I hope I helped!
Excellent sources of biotin for long and thick hair
